INTERMITTENT SUPPORT
SEASONAL PARKS DEPARTMENT / STREETS DEPARTMENT
SALARY: $13.00 per hour (24-40 hours per week)
The City of St. Ann has positions available on a temporary basis. Positions are scheduled on an as needed basis and may vary in hours and length of service.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
MUST BE 18 TO APPLY. May operate and maintain a variety of park maintenance equipment such as tractors, trucks, mowers and light utility vehicles. Performs park maintenance such as mowing and trimming grass, picking up debris, emptying waste receptacles, removing dead and /or dying trees, repairing trails, cleaning public buildings, repairing asphalt roads, shoveling and digging. Checks playgrounds and recreational areas for appearance and possible safety hazards. Assist with routine maintenance of park structures and fixtures such as pavilions, playground equipment, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. Inspects grounds, fixtures and facilities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public. Work may including painting, moving furniture and office equipment as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a high school diploma to apply. Working skill in operating lawn mowers and other grounds upkeep equipment. Requires the ability to carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, and work in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting or carrying heavy objects or equipment, bending, standing for long periods, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and other grounds upkeep equipment. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Ability to cooperate with supervisors and co-workers, follow instructions and carry out assignments with minimal supervision. Requires stable education and work history.
